Owner Comments:

1924- PCGS MS64. I purchased this coin as a raw "choice graded" coin and it was initially graded as improperly cleaned. A second try produced the MS64 grade, which I think it actually warrants. Microscopic inspection of the "cleaning" striations show them to result from die polishing. These faint groves cut into the die result in stiations on the coin that stand out in positive relief as opposed to cleaning marks that cut into a coin's surface. The most obvious die polishing marks on this coin can be seen on the obverse between the rays to the right of Liberty's hip.
