Owner Comments:

Nice example of a 1811 C-2 R.3 in very fine condition. This is the key date of the Classic Head Half Cent series. The C-2 variety has the 1 and 8 are closer than the C-1 obverse variety. The E of LIBERTY is normal sized and is punched over another E. There are clash marks in the field at the lower right of the bust. These clash marks normally are visible in specimens of very fine or higher condition. Slightly more plentiful than the Variety #1. Most 1811's, If not worn, are corroded. It is believed this is due to the fact that the planchets used were the last of the Boulton shipments which was received in 1803,1804 and 1807.
