1834 25C MS64 NGC. B-4, R1. Population (PCGS 34/11, NGC 29/13).
A reported mintage of only 286,000 pieces. Die State II, a brilliant near-Gem that is razor-sharp in strike except for the first star. Star 8 is lightly re-cut south, while star 10 is boldly re-cut southeast. The 4 in the date is re-cut, and close examination reveals a network of slender die cracks about the reverse periphery. Both sides are lustrous and bright beneath a warm blanket of olive, gold, and pastel shades. The boldly defined features are a few wispy bag marks away from full Gem status. Sea green, cobalt-blue, and golden shades are intertwined on both sides.
