The Pinnacle Collection coin. Listed in Winter as the third finest known of no more than five Uncirculated examples.
Nicely toned with rich orange-gold colors over very frosty surfaces. (PCGS 3/0 NGC 0/1).
This half eagle is the fourth overall rarest of the series, but seven in high grade (AU or better).
This date is as rare, if not rarer, than the more heralded 1846-C and 1846-D issues..
