Coin Details

Origin/Country: United States
Design Description: HALF DIMES - SEATED LIBERTY
Item Description: H10C 1857 O
Full Grade: PCGS MS 66
Owner: Sandon

Owner Comments:

I acquired this relatively high grade 1857-O Seated half dime for substantially less than its current PCGS or NGC Price Guide values at an October 2023 coin show. Small Civil War era hoards of uncirculated 1857-O and (mostly) 1858-O half dimes are the apparent source of a number of decent examples of these dates.

This example is legitimately uncirculated and sharply struck, with few abrasions and full luster under light, mottled toning. The holder bears a green CAC sticker, which cannot currently be reflected on the NGC Registry.
