Owner Comments:

I obtained this coin at a March 2023 auction. It is generally well detailed and has some luster, although Liberty's head is not fully detailed. It upgrades the Extremely Fine or so 1854-O in my album.

I was hoping to obtain an 1855 as an example of the with arrows, no rays 1854-55 sub-type, as my album contains a holed piece I received as a gift; but certified examples of that date in my price range have proven elusive. The high mintage 1854-O is actually the most common issue of this sub-type, followed by the 1855-O. The Philadelphia issues are scarcer, and the 1855-S is quite scarce.
