I purchased this 1859 Indian cent at auction in November 2022 primarily for registry set purposes. My album contains an AU coin with a slightly better strike, but it has several small obverse corrosion spots, and I thought it might be details graded. These coins have become unreasonably expensive in uncirculated grades due to their status as a one-year reverse type, so I decided this AU 58 would do. PCGS photos.
