NAME: Last but not Least (NN45S)

Mintage: 58.9 Million
Full Step Availability: 0.33%
Population: 29/14 (11/2022)
Date/mm Information: Bowers suggests the date is the stopped in completing a set of full step war nickels as it is much more rare than the second rarest date with only 1 in 300 achieving five full steps.

Coin Description: The first impression this coin gives is spectacular. Fantastic pastel shades of champagne gold, lavender, peach, pale yellow, and sage green combine with radiant luster, premium gem surfaces, and as good of a strike as you will find on a 45-S, that provides the viewer with gratification rather than the disappointment that usually accompanies this date/mm. Upon closer inspection under a loupe, we find a small mark on the focal area of the obverse, a mark that may cause some to question the assigned grade, but those who grade holistically and aren't slaves to grade limiting practices will have no problem with it.

Comments: This coin was purchased raw from a big time Jefferson dealer on eBay for $230 on 4/24/2022. I basically paid MS65 5FS money for a coin that I thought would grade MS66 5FS. To my surprise, the graders at NGC were undeterred by the small mark on the cheek and graded the coin MS67 5FS, making my $22.27 grading fee a very worthwhile investment and yielding the most valuable coin in the entire collection at $2,700 by NGC's price guide.
