This coin was an upgrade to my previous AU coin. Although that was an affordable addition at the time, this one has better eye appeal and is a much better coin. Akers' second edition rates this coin 18th of 53 in overall rarity, with estimated known in mint state of 785-900 coins, as the vast majority of the original 2,041,500 mintage was melted in the gold recall of 1933.
