1863 H10C PR66 NGC. Exquisitely struck with deeply reflective fields and lovely, unmentioned cameo contrast on both sides of the coin. Population: 11 in 66, 5 finer. VERY Tough!! This coin was my introduction to high grade, quality numismatic material. The lessons I learned from acquiring this coin taught me the wisdom of purchasing high quality material and it has pretty much stuck with me since. This coin lead me to thereafter acquire a 1938 Proof 67 Mercury Dime and a 1942 Proof 67 Walking Liberty Halve Dollar.
This 1863 Proof 66 Half Dime is a bright cameoed jewel!! It's amazing such a little coin was so meticulously preserved around the time of Abraham Lincoln!! This coin will likely never leave my collection and I will always treasure it.
