Lyman Allen #9.03 (KM #181) - Mintage: 1,500,000 (estimated)

General
1941 was the final year that coins were produced by the Manila Mint. The mint sustained heavy damage on December 7, 1941 from Japanese aerial bombardment and additional damage in 1945 during the Battle of Manila which liberated the city. The exact mintage cannot be documented, but the estimate would be reasonably close. This coin, like all of the silver coinage produced by the Philippine Mint in Manila, was struck from silver reclaimed from the second generation Pesos (1907-1912).

This Coin
This coin exhibits a typically poor strike but is a very well preserved and a nice example of this date. It also exhibits a die crack on the reverse emanating from the rim of the coin to the tip of the eagle's right wing between the letters A and T in STATES. There is also a smaller die crack between the tops of the letters T and A in STATES.

Varieties
None reported for this date.

Date acquired: 2/4/2022 (already graded by NGC)
