2000C Silver Kookaburra 1oz proof SYDNEY OLYMPICS COLORIZED PF70 Ultra Cameo

The "C" indicates that this coin was actually produced by The Royal Australian Mint in Canberra and the 2000 Olympic coins were joint produced. Any 2000 $5 silver Olympic coin with a "C" after the 2000 was not produced at the Perth Mint so this makes it much more unique as the Royal Canberra Mint is not used for the Kookaburra and Koala series coins. KOOKABURRA & WARATAHA three year joint program, the Royal Australian Mint and The Perth Mint struck sixteen different 99.9% pure silver five dollar proofs for the Sydney Olympics dated 2000 between 1997-2000. Each coin has the edge lettering GAMES OF THE XXVII OLYMPIAD.Stuart Devlin's original concept description:A kookaburra sitting on the branch of a tree will form the centrepiece. This feature will be enclosed by a border based on the flowers and leaves of the waratah - the state flower of New South Wales. This proof version had a 100,000 coin issue limit as did all 16 varieties of the 2000 Olympic $5 proof coin series. The majority of these coins were kept as Sydney Olympic Games souvenirs and are not seen often on the market. Pop 3 (2/2022). Sold one of the PF70's to Michael Th. in february 2022.
