Description: This brass coin still has most of its original brass color, and only a few carbon fleck and marks on each side. The coin is fully lustrous and well deserved of the assigned grade.
Comments: The 1944 5 Kroner of this Greenland series was actually struck at the Philadelphia mint for use by United States soldiers stationed in Greenland in WWII because at the time, 5 Kroner had the same value as 1 US dollar. I purchased this coin from and eBay seller (flintlock_coin_bullion) on 1/22/2021 for $249.50 as a PCGS MS64. I then cracked and crossed the coin to NGC in 7/2021 and they maintained the PCGS grade on 11/10/2021.
Along with the 25 Ore with hole, this is the key date to this series. It is tough to locate in mint state and in MS64 has an NGC population of only 26/15 with MS65 being the top grade.
