Owner Comments:

The obverse design of the Silver Eagle is taken from the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. This coin was issued for circulation in the United States from 1916 to 1947.

The reverse of the coin, a new design ( designated T-2 ), features an eagle as it approaches a landing carrying an oak branch from AIP designer Emily Damstra and sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Michael Gaudioso.

I was surprised by how much I liked the new, more realistic depiction of the American Bald Eagle on the reverse while holding the new design in my hand for the very first time.

The US Mint released the 2021 Burnished Eagle on September 9th, 2021. The release day price was $67.00; silver was priced at $24.05. The product limit by the US Mint was set at 175,000. The current sales total from the US Mint February 5, 2023 sales report is 174,419 coins sold.
