Owner Comments:

This is an interesting year for the Morgan Dollars from the Philadelphia Mint. There are two varieties of coins struck with 2 different hubs: C3 - the older one and C4 - the newly introduced one. Unfortunately, the new hub was not as good as the old one. Hence, the coins struck with C4 hub are lightly struck. I hope mine is the sharply struck variety with the earlier hub (C3).
I will have to compare it with other examples of the same coin to be sure.
The circulation mintage was over 6,9 Million coins. The AU53 population 1 of 287 with 1923 graded higher by NGC as of 2/2007. I acquired this coin on 06/03/2006.
