Owner Comments:
I admit to purchasing this coin to fill this slot rather than it "incidentally" doing so. I completed a nice BU set of silver Roosevelt dimes in an album decades ago and have no wish to collect these common coins in bulky, costly slabs. This particular date is popular due to a relatively low mintage and being the last "S" mint dime made for circulation and was much hoarded in roll and bag form.
This particular specimen is very frosty and has very few abrasions but was struck from worn reverse dies, resulting in weakness in much of the legend. I purchased it at a coin show in March 2021, the first such show I had been able to attend in a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is housed in an older NGC holder.
