Owner Comments:

The spotted dog!! Normally I avoid coins with spots like the plague. But these spots are not carbon spots but rather spots left over from the planchet prep issues the Philly mint experienced during the late 40's thru the mid 50's. The strike is full; as full as a 1951 Philly strike gets; and the surfaces are relatively mark free with strong booming luster. I think this coin technically is better than the grade but the eye appeal holds it back. Housed in a new prong style holder.
