Owner Comments:

Struck just after the Mint ceased producing no-contrast proofs, the 1904 is essentially the first year contrast was again present on proof coinage. Nevertheless, of the 670 proof quarters struck, very few cameo coins were actually produced with only a couple of dozen known today, and none have been certified with deep mirrors. This is a perfect proof striking that is hairline-free with no contact marks that we have been able to locate. The obverse is mostly brilliant with a faint accent of golden color around the periphery, while the reverse displays deeper lilac, rose, and sea-green hues. The devices are noticeably frosted and provide a strong white-on-black cameo effect against the illimitable depth of reflectivity in the fields. This is the finest Cameo certified by both of the major services.
