O.123 R1.
Although a reworked MD produced a number of marriages with minor alterations to the cap, mouth, jaw line and curls, the O.123 is not one of them.
Shown here is an exceptionally flashy bust half with full cartwheel luster. It is toned on the right side rims in deep orange and red with a trace of blue.
This coin also illustrates the famous "bulge" or "halo" to the surface immediately in front of Liberty's face. The bulge is due to Mint lapping to remove clashing (eagle's left wing), which resulted in a slight flat impression to the working die.
