This coin is to my knowledge, the finest 1872 FS 301 S-1 in existence. Bold N. Repunching is most apparent on the base of the 1 and inside the loops of the 2. This is a highly collectible variety, listed in the Cherrypickers' Guide and avidly pursued by specialists. Well-detailed with magenta and violet-blue accents over lustrous, copper-orange surfaces. Void of mentionable contact. Auctioned for $6,000 on Nov 6, 2017 (IRS 46980). CAC and now Photo Sealed by Rick Snow.
