Owner Comments:

The wartime steel cent remains an extremely popular type of the Lincoln series due to its vastly unique metallic appearance. Zinc coated steel cent replaced the bronze composition to conserve the national copper reserves for ammunition needed overseas during World War II.
Fun fact: More steel cents were made in one year than Barber, Walking Liberty and Franklin half dollars combined from 1900-1963!

This pristine example has wonderful luster and unique color. NGC has graded about 200 steel cents in MS68 and 20 higher at MS68+.
