Owner Comments:

1963 Andres Bonifacio Centennial Commemorative Peso, (KM #193) Mintage: 100,000

Minted in 1965 by the Royal Mint of England to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of Philippine national hero, Andres Bonifacio.

Peso coins are large, and tend to suffer more surface damage than their smaller counterparts. Counting machines of the day didn't help matters much either. High grade examples of this issue are difficult to obtain. I was disappointed that this coin didn't quite make the cut for an MS65, since it appears to me that it should qualify for that grade or possibly even higher.

Date acquired: 7/13/2019 (Raw coin)
Date graded: 9/24/2019 (Self submitted to NGC)
