RARE '56 - TOP POP!

The U.S. Mint sold 669,384 Proof Sets in 1956. But only 277 Washington Quarters from that year are graded Proof 69* by NGC. Most of the Quarters made in the early years of the Post-War Proof series are scratched, toned or damaged in some way. This is one of the finest examples of a Brilliant Proof Quarter from 1956 that exists. No specimens have ever been graded higher. NGC reserves the 'Star' designation for coins with superior eye appeal for their grade. PCGS does not use a * designation in their grading.
