In 2019, a second commemorative dollar was issued to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of The American Legion and its founding on March 15, 1919, in Paris, France. This is the second commemorative dollar produced with a 99.9% silver composition.
The obverse of the coin features The American Legion emblem -- a five-pointed star encircled by a wreath of oak branches. The reverse features two flags crossed over each other -- the U.S. and the American Legion flags -- with the inscription "100 Years of Service" underneath a fleur de lis.
Both the mint state and proof coins were minted in Philadelphia. Mintage numbers for this coin series appear really low. A January 2020 report in Coin World magazine shows sales of the MS dollar at 13,790 (second lowest in the Modern era to date) and proof dollar at 44,022.
