Roosevelt on obverse (1946-date) designed by John R. Sinnock (initials JS appear at the truncation of the neck). Clad composition: Outer layers of copper-nickel (.75 copper, .25 nickel) bonded to inner core of pure copper. Proofs minted: 2,543,401 of which 800,000 were silver.
