The second release of commemorative dollars in 2007 honors the 50th anniversary of the desegregation of Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas. The obverse features the marching feet of nine black students as they were entering the high school while being escorted by U.S. soldiers. The reverse features an image of the Little Rock Central High School as it appeared in 1957.
There were 66,093 uncirculated and 124,678 proof coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint. The MS70 and PF70 graded dollars are plentiful and easy to find at an affordable price.
