Owner Comments:
No commemorative half dollars were minted during 2012. In 2013, a commemorative half dollar was issued to honor two Five Star Generals of the United States. It was the 19th half dollar minted in the "Modern Commemorative" era. The obverse of the 2013-D half dollar features the busts of Generals Henry Arnold and Omar Bradley. The reverse features the crest of Fort Leavenworth (the location for the Command and General Staff College).
There were 38,097 uncirculated coins produced. These half dollars are made from 92% copper and 8% nickel. The 2013-D half is extremely difficult to find in perfect MS70 graded condition. This is a key, highly collectible coin.
Ebay auction purchase, 10/10/2014, $38.
