Owner Comments:

The New Orleans Mint struck over 2.8 million Morgan dollars in 1879. However, the majority of these were placed directly into circulation. Some have survived in mint state, but they tend to be on the lower end of mint state, around MS63-MS64. Gem examples are extremely rare, and command large premiums to choice examples.
