Republic gold 5 Pesos 1875-GW MS 61 NGC, San Jose mint, KM 117. Lustrous Mint State and sharply struck with lightly toned surfaces over the scattered handling marks expected for the designation. The better date of this scarce two-year type, clearly superior to both the Eliasberg and Mayer examples. Conditionally very rare in this preservation and currently the single Mint State specimen certified at NGC for the date, a most attractive and vastly desirable coin overall.
