While the 1881-O is well-known for its availability in borderline Uncirculated grades, clearly Mint State coins are far more elusive, and Prooflike pieces are even harder to come by. As noted by Q. David Bowers in his series Guide Book, "finding a truly choice example can be a real challenge."
