Owner Comments:
The strike is usually a bit soft for this issue, especially in the centers. Luster is usually good and can be frosty or satin. Surfaces can be abraded but smooth gems are available. Most coins are brilliant or have light iridescent toning. Coins with deep and/or vivid colors are rather rare.
Important varieties:
V 101 doubled D South
V 102 filled O in God.
V 103 doubled D Northwest
V 104 doubled D obverse-on rays and motto.
V 105 double D Southeast
V 106 doubled D Southwest
V 107 D over S
This current example is particularly well struck and clean for this issue and the luster is simply amazing, which I find more difficult to locate with both of these aspects being superior. Surfaces are mostly clean and the coin is a brilliant white.
Investment potential is above average for MS 65 and higher.
The 41-D is 5th of 20 in MS rarity and 11th of 20 in high grade (MS 65 or better) rarity in the short set.
