This example is very nearly fully struck with sharp thumb, center skirtlines and head/bonnet of Miss Liberty on the obverse and sharp eagle's breast and trailing leg on the reverse. Lightly speckled golden brown old toning over original silver surfaces. Nice luster with good flow lines. Almost completely mark free in all areas. OGH slabbed and CAC green stickered for premium quality eye appeal.

This issue, in general, can be located in fully struck gem condition. Common in all grades, but more difficult than the 1936-P. Similar to the 1936-P & 1939-P, but somewhat scarcer in mint state than both. It is more common than the 1938-P, 1934-P and 1935-P. Very attractive coins can be found having brilliant luster and nice strikes. Abrasions are more common than on 1936-P & 1939-P coins. The 1937-P is usually more moderately toned than the 1936-P & 1939-P but the toning is usually confined to the periphery in light iridescent shades. Investment potential is above average for MS 65 and higher graded examples. All proofs were made from the third hub, featuring one vertical sun ray as well as having all rays being thinner than in previous years.

This issue is 40th of 65 in overall mint state rarity and 14th of 19 in middle date mint state rarity. These numbers are the same for both mint state and high grade (MS 65 or better) mint state.
