Early Releases.

The Homestead National Monument celebrates the Homestead Act of 1862 which helped fuel pioneer movement westward across the United States. The Act allowed an individual to file a homestead application eventually then file for a deed of title. Initially, each applicant was given 160 acres and eventually the Act allowed for more. The Act was repealed in 1976 by the Federal Land Policy and Management Act.

The first ATB quarter released in 2015 is the Homestead National Monument of America Quarter for Nebraska. It is the 26th issue since the series began in 2010. The reverse design depicts the three fundamentals of survival common to all homesteaders: food, shelter, and water. Inscriptions around the image read: "HOMESTEAD," "NEBRASKA," "2015," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
