Owner Comments:
The Denver Mint produced over 56 million Roosevelt dimes dated 1951 and millions survive in uncirculated and mint state condition.
This 1951-D has a streaky russet-colored tone on both generally below average in eye-appeal. However, it has a very good strike and fine details on both sides. Torch lines are clear and defined, however contact marks on the lower horizontal band interrupt the band line's continuity. So this dime perhaps should not deserve its Full Bands designation.
Other noticeable contact marks include one to the left of Roosevelt's eye and a few smaller nicks on his nose. Overall, this coin is perhaps both unattractive and perhaps should not deserve its FB designation. This is not the highlight of the collection and I'd like to replace this coin with a nicer or at least better-looking one.
