Owner Comments:

Blazing mint luster and a great strike. This date tends to come softly struck in the thumb area----this coin is almost full. Skirtlines are full. The fields are mostly clean with only a couple of tiny abrasions.

As mentioned, strike ranges from sharp to a bit soft. Most coins have vibrant, frosty mint luster. Fields are usually moderately abraded and this issue is tough to find really smooth. Most examples are brilliant and some are only lightly toned with few deeply toned examples.

Important varieties:

V 101 – Doubled OBV. Shows clearly on date and in general lower section of OBV including ground.

V 102 – Doubled OBV shows clearly on date with 4 serifs on “6” and slightly on “IN GOD WE TRUST’.

V 103 – Doubled OBV die. Shows on date and lower gown. There is a short die scratch above mint mark.

V 104 –Distorted Hub Doubling of 1936 toward center.

V 105–Distorted Hub Doubling of 1936 toward center.

V 106- Distorted Hub Quadrupling of the 1936 and foot toward center.
