Owner Comments:

1871 50C NGC 30. WB-102. Errant 1 in Rock. Lower left base of an errant 1 in the rock above the space between the 1 and the 8 of the date. Since it is on a high portion of the rock, it quickly disappears with coin wear, but is visible on coins grading fine or better. The second 1 is also slightly recut north with signs of repunching evident below the base of the prominent 1. Breen unlisted. R4 in F/VF MPD-001. Rev die crack thru the top of MERICA then thru the base of HALF DOL. A second crack thru top of UNITED and middle of STA not present on this coin (see Flynn), so a mid-state REV Die.
