Honestly one of my least favorite coin in the entire Lincoln series. My dislike is not about the coin itself but rather that I do not think this coin should be included in the basic date/mm set at all; it is nothing more than a variety. This variety came into existence due to sloppy, poor quality control at the Denver mint. A worker accidentally over filled an obverse die and removed most of the mintmark. Then after extensive use what was left of the mintmark became so eroded that it ceased to be seen on the coins themselves. I crossed this from an ANACS holder, now housed in a PCGS holder that is listed as generation 3.1 on the PCGS site; and listed in the Conder101 reference book as generation 5.
