Owner Comments:
This is the last year the Charlotte mnt struck Quarter Eagles as the mint only produced Half Eagles in 1861 prior to its closure. Less than 7500 struck with only 150-200 estimated extant. Lustrous green-gold surfaces with hints of orange toning. Wholly original and attractive example in an PCGS OGH that would easily grade AU-50 or better.
