This coin is one of only 5 Pan Pac slugs (Round and Octagonal) to receive a star and is the 2nd highest graded slug with a star. It has no surface marks visible to the naked eye and exhibits cartwheel luster, something which is hard to find in these big coins.... Only 483 coins of this design were sold, making it the lowest mintage of all the mint state commemoratives ....One issue was that one hundred dollars in 1915 to purchase these coins was prohibitive for most collectors.
