Seller description:
Finest graded NGC Gem 1902-S Morgan $1, MS65 Prooflike. This example, and a second MS65 Prooflike at PCGS, are tied for the finest Prooflikes known of this issue. NGC Census: 1 in 65 Prooflike, 0 finer (3/13). Gems of this issue are infrequently encountered, and DMPL coins almost never found. When DMPL specimens are encountered, they are invariably in lower Mint State grades. The highest graded DMPL examples are a single MS62 coin at each service (11/06). This pleasing example features profoundly mirrored, untoned surfaces. The fields are free of distractions, save for a couple of tiny abrasions in remote corners of the reverse. Liberty's cheek is especially clean and pleasing. There is a minor incompleteness of strike at the centers. Ex: Orlando FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2007), lot 7441. From The Orca's Collection.
