The 1922-P design was modified and the mint director ordered a low relief version be produced with a mintage of 51,737,000 making this issue the most common issue. The mint was ordered to produce as many coins as possible becuase of the Pittman act. This issue contains water spots due to improper planchet washing. Due to the large prodution of this issue, there are a large number of varieties (VAM Top 50)
Rarity ranking at MS65 is 23/24they are easily the most commonly found Peace dollar, especially in high grade. They can easily be found in grades of MS65 and MS66, and are one of the most common Peace dollars in MS67 as well.
