The 1921 is the first production of the series at the Philadelphia mint and none were minted at the Denver or San Francisco mint. A tough issue with a Mintage of 1,006,473. These were only the third U.S. circulated coin struck in high relief. This process resulted in very weakly struck coins. These coins are typically a deep gray color.
Rarity Ranking at MS63 is 20th making the 1921 one of the more common coins in uncirculated condition. The 1921 is second only to the 1934-S in importance to the Peace dollar series.
