Owner Comments:
From an original mintage of only 8005 pieces, the 48D is a tough coin in superb gem grade with only 42 pieces certified between the 2 major grading services in over 25 years. Most likely the actual number is smaller given resubmissions and lost or discarded grading inserts inflating the totals. This is a wonderful coin hailing from the #1 PCGS registry set of Bruce Scher. It's a condition consensus, CAC certified and Coinfacts plated coin with superb ultra clean surfaces and jawline of BTW. It possesses delicate / light toning with a robin's-egg-blue outer patina and broad luster with hints of frost and quicksilver.
