Owner Comments:

I'll turn the description of this coin over to the esteemed Mark Hooten, from whom I acquired this extraordinary coin:
"This particular coin is my single favorite coin of my entire collection. This specimen is defined by its excellent surfaces, strike, and complete originality. The eye appeal is off the charts. Toning on this beauty is utterly breathtaking. Oranges on the rim bleed to rose in the fields. Where the orange and rose toning give way, blue dominates the tone of the surfaces. Beneath the toning is an absolutely booming lustre that simply shimmers when held under light. The fields and devices of this gem are nothing short of spectacular. Close inspection reveals flawless surfaces and needle sharp devices. Truly, if I could keep only one coin from my entire collection, this would be the one. Much more common in lower grades, this coin's population is only 11 with 0 higher for NGC and 9 with 1 higher for PCGS." (11/18/04)
