Stack's Bowers:"Although high quality Alabama 2x2 issues can not be called rare, superb quality ones like this can be. Among the finest handful of coins seen by PCGS, this specimen is very well struck for the type, lacking the cratering that occurs at central obverse and reverse where there was insufficient striking pressure to bring up complete design details there. In fact, the strike is so sharp in the center that one can follow the thin die crack that meanders from the top of eagle's left wing to its left talon. Light pink-gold in hue, the toning accentuates the bold mint luster rather than hiding it, as a thicker coating of toning might have done. A simply splendid, CAC-verified specimen that is at the top of the PCGS charts; a full MS-67 will cost as much as 10 times what this coin will bring, making the present coin a very good value for its quality.
PCGS Population: 3; 5 finer (MS-67+ finest)."
