This coin has been incorrectly attributed to assayers JM for José Rodríguez Carasa and Manuel Iglesia Abarca who worked together from 1755 to 1774 but is actually MJ, for Manuel Iglesia Abarca and Joaquín Negrón who worked together from 1773 to 1780 (see photo). Raw coin from Ebay auction on 2/13/2010, one of my earliest acquisitions that you will still see in the registry.
