Calhoun (Jackson's vice-president) anonymously publishes South Carolina Exposition and Protest arguing that states can nullify certain federal laws./ The U.S. Mint used several dies in 1828 for Bust halves which created an interesting assortment of coins, Large 8’S, Small 8’S, Large Letters, Small Letters, Squrare 2’S and Curl 2’S were all combined to make various coins.
