Owner Comments:

The 2010 Millard Fillmore Dollar was the first release of the year for the Presidential Dollar coin series and represented the thirteenth release in the series overall. The official release into circulation took place on February 18, 2010.

An official launch ceremony for the coin was held on the same date in Moravia, New York. The ceremony was co-hosted by the United State Mint and the Cayuga-Owasco Lakes Historical Society. A separate, unofficial ceremony was held in Buffalo, New York, where Millard Fillmore also had ties.

The obverse of the coin features as portrait of former President Millard Fillmore designed and sculpted by Don Everhart. The obverse inscriptions read “Millard Fillmore”, “In God We Trust”, “13th President” and the years served “1850-1853?.

The reverse of the coin will feature the Statue of Liberty image that has been used for each coin of the Presidential Dollar series. The reverse inscriptions include “United States of America” and the denomination “$1?. The date, mint mark, and motto “E Pluribus Unum” appear on the edge of the coin.

The Millard Fillmore Dollar was struck for circulation at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. A collectible proof version of the coin was also produced at the San Francisco Mint and issued in some of the US Mint’s collectible coin offerings.
