Owner Comments:

William Henry Harrison was the first president to die while in office and was the last president born before the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Prior to ascending to the presidency, Harrison was a distinguished Army officer and successfully led his forces during the Battle of Tippecanoe. Harrison's presidency was by far the shortest being sworn in on March 4th 1841, and dying on April 4th 1841, 31 days, 12 hours, and 30 minutes.
