Owner Comments:
Off center obverse strike with rotated reverse. The Colonial specialist knows a Vermont copper is extremely rare in Mint State. The present piece is the highest graded Vermont Britannia, Pop.1 at MS60. The Ford Collection contained two examples of the variety, one in XF and the other described as "Technically Uncirculated," but with striated and granular surfaces. This example, like the Ford coin, has splashes of mint color on the obverse. It is otherwise medium brown with some splashes of darker toning. This piece is one of the finest Ryder-13s known. Listed on page 68 of the 2009 Guide.
